School Sleepover Bell Tent Hire
Create a magical space for your School Sleepover...
School Sleepovers, campouts, residentials? Whatever you call it, we've had a lot of fun planning and building tented villages for our younger explorers.
Ever since coming out of covid times we’ve worked with some great out of the box thinkers who put an emphasis on experience and adventure for their children. We work closely with teachers, PTA groups, governors, club organisers to create lasting memories for our future campers.
How Easy is it to Book School Sleepover Bell Tent Hire?
Quick and Simple
Just get in touch with your dates, idea of numbers and location. We’ll send a quote, and once you pay the deposit your bell tent hire is secured. We know you may not have exact details of numbers and configurations, so we finalise those details nearer the date when you pay the balance.
What does a tented village school sleepover look like?
Think of a collection of our beautiful canvas Bell tents set up in an arrangement for your school group. This might be a line, a horseshoe or facing each other. We work with you to create a space that works for you and your location. Using fairy lights and pendant lights we create a magical setting for you and your sleepover champions.

Our experience with School Sleepovers...
As owners of Brilliant Bell Tent Hire we have between us 5 children ranging from 6-12 attending our local primary school, Gastrells School in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Working with teachers and PTA groups we have created Bell Tent Villages for school campouts in our area on numerous occasions.
Different Types of School Sleepovers
There are a few different ways of having a sleepover at your school which we can help with:
- A tented village on the grounds of the school
- An organised sleepover inside the school normally in a classroom or school hall
- A tented village on grounds near the school itself - the park, a church or village hall...
- An offsite residential set up
Whatever you imagine we're here to help you source what you need and provide if we have. Everything is possible with the right team!
School Sleepovers on school grounds
Not every school has access to their green space. But if you are lucky enough to have your own space then creating a tented village on your grounds is a great option to give your children an incredible experience. We work with organisers to create a magical space for your campers.
School Sleepover outside of school grounds
If you don’t have your own space at school then don’t worry as perhaps another school does or a local campsite or scout ground does. We have created tented school villages on campsites who were very welcoming of the business.

Top Tips for a School Sleepover Organiser
- While the word ‘sleep’ is a key part of the word ‘sleepover’, just prepare yourself for the fact that sleep might be in short supply.
- Be organised around group activities. For example our local primary school engaged the children by researching and planning the group meal. This involved researching options, working out how much food was needed. They then visited the local supermarket and bought the ingredients, prepared them and helped cook them. An amazing memory for the kids.
- Depending on the location, organise a post dinner event. Could be a fire lighting ceremony with camp songs. Could be a night time walk. Could be a star gazing and naming ceremony. All of these have been used by our local schools to great effect.
- Limit sweets and chocolate as much as you can. Do this with the information that goes out to parents and carers beforehand. Children getting involved and making their own campfire smores is one thing. 2 kilos of haribos smuggled into every tent is another!
- Make the tents as comfortable as possible for children and staff! (We can help you with this)
- Have a lights out policy. It won’t make them go to sleep but it will aid the process.
- We recommend 6 little people per tent but this can increase to 8 if we use self inflating mattresses.
PTA fundraising and Bell Tents
Bell tents and school sleepovers lend themselves to fundraising opportunities. We have seen a range of creative solutions brought to sleepovers. Our tents are normally set up and used for multiple days. This can allow double or treble use depending on the furnishing options. Can be used for a school sleepover and then used for a parent child sleepover perhaps. Our hire period is normally for 3 days so be creative and maximise their use.
